Excellent Food Source

Salmon, mackerel, and herring top the list of fatty fish that are excellent for healthy skin. These fish provide the rich source of omega-3 fatty acids which are necessary to help keep skin thick, supple, and moisturized. While they are known to reduce inflammation, which can cause redness and acne, omega-3 fatty acids can also make your skin less sensitive to the sun's harmful rays. A deficiency in this important source may lead to the skin exhibiting dryness.

Another important nutrient that fatty fish contain is Vitamin E. One of the most important antioxidant for your skin, Vitamin E is essential for helping protect your skin against damage from free radicals and inflammation.

These fatty fish are also a source of high-quality protein, which is needed to maintain the strength and integrity of your skin.

Lastly, these fish provide zinc. A mineral that is vital for regulating inflammation, overall skin health and the production of new cells. A deficiency of zinc can lead to skin inflammation, lesions, and delayed wound healing.

With omega-3 fatty acids, Vitamin E, high-quality protein and zinc all packed in, consider adding one or more of these suggested fatty fish to your menu. Your skin will thank you for it!
